A read-only property that returns the XmlMap object that represents the schema assigned to the XPath object. A read-only Boolean value that returns True if the XPath object is assigned to a list, or returns False if the object is assigned to a single cell. In most cases, the CAS server and the mailbox server will be in the same Active Directory site, but it is entirely possible that they will be in separate sites .

Things are more complicated when Outlook attempts to connect from the Internet using Outlook Anywhere. In this case, Outlook cannot check against Active Directory to retrieve the list of Autodiscover SCPs.

Outlook can t resolve the FQDN for the CAS server (or array) that is registered in its profile, so it falls back and attempts to connect to the URL for the external Autodiscover service for the domain using HTTPS (port 443). For example, if the user s email address is JSmith@contoso.com, Outlook searches for the Autodiscover Web site by looking for https://contoso.com/autodiscover first and then https://autodiscover.contoso.com if the first lookup fails. The Autodiscover Web site should be locatable via Domain Name System (DNS) and differs from the one used by OWA users to connect from the Internet, which is usually named something like https://webmail.contoso.com. The fact that the names of at least two different Web sites need to be published to the Internet to facilitate external client connectivity is an excellent reason to use Subject Alternative Names (SAN) SSL certificates that contain a list of all the Web site names.
